Who is He in yonder stall,
At whose feet the shepherds fall?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He that stands and weeps
At the grave where Lazarus sleeps?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He who from the grave
Comes to succor, help, and save?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Behold the wounds in Jesus’ hands,
The mark upon His side,
Then ponder whom He meant to save
When on the cross He died.
We cannot see the love of God,
Which saves us from the Fall,
Yet know that Christ from wood and nails
Built mansions for us all.
2.Behold the outstretched hands of Christ—
Our Lord, who came to save—
Whose love and grace redeem our souls
And lift us from the grave.
Though we are bruised whene’er we stray,
His guiding hands caress.
He washes and anoints with oil,
And in His arms we rest.
3.Behold the wounds in Jesus’ hands.
Look to your Lord and live.
He yearns to bless you with His love
And all your sins forgive.
Oh, empty is the heart of man
When it is filled with sin.
Come, open wide your broken heart
And let your Savior in!
4.Behold His wounded hands and feet!
Come touch, and see, and feel
The wounds and marks that you may know
His love for you is real.
Then as you fall to worship Him
And wash His feet with tears,
Your Savior takes you in His arms
And quiets all your fears.
Come to the garden, in the darkness
Where Jesus came and knelt to pray
To bear our grief, to carry all our sadness
To pay the debt He alone could pay
Come to the garden, in the darkness
Where Jesus sorrowed for our sin
And offered up His sinless soul to save us
Come tarry here, and watch one hour with Him
Chorus:
He bled to bind our wounds and wipe away our tears
He suffered all the anguish of mankind
He wept for every heartache we will ever know
His tears were yours; His tears were mine
Come to the garden, in the darkness
Where Jesus wrought His Father’s will
To claim the souls His blood alone could purchase
To free us all from the chains of hell
There in garden, in the darkness
Where Jesus drank the bitter cup
The pain of our iniquity and weakness
Was swallowed up in His perfect love
Chorus:
He bled to bind our wounds and wipe away our tears
He suffered all the anguish of mankind
He wept for every heartache we will ever know
His tears were yours; His tears were mine
I glory in my Jesus; I delight to sing His praise
I glory in His goodness; I glory in His grace
Help and refuge in my weakness
Hope and healing when I fall
I glory in my Jesus
Who redeems my soul from hell
Born of Mary; born of mercy
Born of love for all mankind
Born to carry all our sorrow
Born to suffer; born to die
Come to fit us for His kingdom
Come to save my soul from sin
I glory in my Jesus
And forever trust in Him
I glory in my Jesus
God of power, God of might
Guide and guardian through the darkness
God of everlasting light
Swift to seek me though I wander
Swift to comfort and forgive
I glory in my Jesus
And in Him my soul shall live
1 Amazing grace (how sweet the sound)
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.
2 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
and grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed!
3 Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come:
'tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.
4 When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
Precious Lord, take my hand,
Lead me on, let me stand,
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light:
Refrain
Take my hand, precious Lord,
Lead me home.
When my way grows drear,
Precious Lord, linger near,
When my life is almost gone,
Hear my cry, hear my call,
Hold my hand lest I fall:
Refrain
When the darkness appears
And the night draws near,
And the day is past and gone,
At the river I stand,
Guide my feet, hold my hand:
Refrain
I know one who cares, found in him piece of mind
I know one who's there, found a friend so loving and kind
I know a man who cares, found in him piece of mind
I know a man who's there, found a friend so loving and kind
[Chorus]
There is a balm in Gilead, there is a balm in Gilead
There is a balm in Gilead, there is a balm in Gilead
[Verse]
Medicine used in the bible days
To heal the sick and take the pain away
Medicine used in the bible days
To heal the sick and take the pain away
[Chorus]
There is a balm in Gilead
There is a balm (well)
The-e-e-ere is a balm (well, well)
There is a balm
The-e-e-ere is a balm
There is a balm in Gilead, there is a balm in Gilead
There is a balm in Gilead, there is a balm in Gilead
[Verse]
He healed the sick and he raised the dead
Five thousand hungry souls he fed
He healed the sick and he raised the dead
Five thousand hungry souls he fed
[Chorus]
There is a balm in Gilead
There is a balm (well)
The-e-e-ere is a balm (there is a balm in Gilead)
There is a balm
The-e-e-ere is a balm
[Bridge]
If there's a need in your life today
Just look to Jesus, he'll brighten your day
If there's a need in your life today
Just look to Jesus, he'll brighten your day
If there's love you need today
Just look to Jesus he'll brighten your day
If there's joy you need today
Jesus will send it your way
[Verse]
Jesus is a Balm in Gilead
Removed the tomb the third day and rose from the grave
He took the keys of death, Hell, and the grave
Laid the foundation, opened up the way
Jesus is a Balm in Gilead
Removed the tomb the third day and rose from the grave
He took the keys of death, Hell, and the grave
Laid the foundation, opened up the way
Lyrics 2
Where are the signs? Which way should I go?
I planned each step but now I don't know
Tomorrow is a chasm of uncertainty
But, I will go there, if You'll go with me
Chorus
Gentle Savior, lead me on
Let Your Spirit light the way
Gentle Savior, lead me on
Hold me close and keep me safe
Lead me on, Gentle Savior
Why can't I walk away from my regrets
And why is forgiveness so hard to accept
My past surrounds me like a house I can't afford
But You say, "Come with me; don't live there anymore."
Chorus
And when I reach the valley every soul must journey through
I'll remember then how well You know the way
I'll put my hand in Your hand like a trusting child would do
And say…
Chorus
He is risen! He is risen!
Tell it out with joyful voice.
He has burst his three days’ prison;
Let the whole wide earth rejoice.
Death is conquered; man is free.
Christ has won the victory.
2.Come with high and holy hymning;
Chant our Lord’s triumphant lay.
Not one darksome cloud is dimming
Yonder glorious morning ray,
Breaking o’er the purple east,
Symbol of our Easter feast.
3.He is risen! He is risen!
He hath opened heaven’s gate.
We are free from sin’s dark prison,
Risen to a holier state.
And a brighter Easter beam
On our longing eyes shall stream.
On the road to Emmaus with Cleopas my old friend
On a dusty walk that took us from Jerusalem
And the things we had seen there, we could hardly understand
And we reasoned in our heavy hearts and spoke about the Man
For we believed he was Messiah whom they hung upon a cross
And we could not bear the sorrow, nor comprehend the loss.
Then we were joined by the Stranger whom we did not recognize
And he gently asked the reason for the sadness in our eyes
“Hast thou not known” asked Cleopas, “of the things which have been done?
How Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was God’s chosen Son
Hath been condemned by the rulers, and then unjustly tried
And the people chose a murderer, but Him they crucified?”
And when the Sabbath was done
Before the morning sun began to rise
There were three women of God
Came to care for the body of the Christ
And with sweet spices in hand
And with ointments they planned
To anoint Him to grave of men.
But when they came to the tomb
They found an empty room where He lay
And they were taken in fright
When an angel in white stood to say
“Weep not, you need not fear
For the Lord you seek is not here
But is risen, and lives again.”
Then He said as we wondered, “O fools and slow of heart
To believe all that the prophets were commanded to impart
Ought not the Christ to have suffered at the hands of sinful men
And give His life a ransom, then take it up again?”
Then He began from the scriptures expounding on all things
How Moses and the prophets had all testified of Him.
Then we drew nigh to the village, and He fain would travel on
“O no, abide with us” we said, “for the day is nearly gone.”
Then He went in for to tarry, and we all sat down to meat
And the Stranger blessed and brake the bread and gave to us to eat
Then were our eyes finally opened and every doubt then fled
The Lord, the God of heaven was now risen from the dead.
And when we finally knew
He slipped away from our view out of sight
And we were left with our thoughts
O how had we not seen the light?
Did not our hearts burn within?
And did not happiness fill us again?
As we listened to the Words of Christ.
And as we went on our way
To Emmaus that day of all days
We felt the voice of the Lord
Bearing witness of God and His ways
And His voice is small and still
Teaching all who will listen His will
By the power of the Holy Ghost
As we listen to the words of Christ
Lyrics
1 God sent His son,
They called Him, Jesus;
He came to love,
Heal and forgive;
He lived and died
To buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there
To prove my Savior lives!
Chorus
Because He lives,
I can face tomorrow!
Because He lives,
All fear is gone.
Because I know
He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
2. How sweet to hold
A newborn baby,
And feel the pride
And joy he brings;
But greater still
The calm assurance:
This child can face
Uncertain days because He Lives!
3. And then one day,
I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final
War with pain;
And then, as death
Gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory
And I’ll know He lives!
O love that will not let me go
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be
O Joy that seekest me through pain
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain
And feel the promise is not vain
That morn shall tearless be
O love that will not let me go
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be
O love that will not let me go
